The #Movements Project combines circuitry, engineering, and art by inviting participants to design a kinetic sculpture based on a social movement or community issue of their choice. Kinetic sculptures are sculptures that incorporate some sort of movement. They can be moved by wind, hand, motor power, etc. Participants will have access to a variety of materials (motors, LED lights, art materials) to design a moving sculpture based on a social message or social movement of their choice. We will also discuss ways to integrate this into OST programming for youth.

This workshop will allow you to have fun while strengthening your STEAM habits of mind! Get ready to: Develop Craft: Envision; Observe; Reflect; Engage; Stretch/Explore; and Express.
